Sri Lanka Marxist party to hold seminars against proposed amendments to Executive Presidency

Sri Lanka's Marxist party, Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) is preparing to launch a series of country wide meetings to protest against the present Executive Presidency and the proposed constitutional amendments to the Presidency.


The series of seminars titled "The proposed constitutional amendments: for the country or family?" will be launched tomorrow (28) at the Public Library in Colombo.
JVP politburo member and DNA parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake is to deliver the lecture at the event.
The JVP states that the programme is aimed at creating awareness among the public of the adverse effects of the Executive Presidency.
