A hotline in Sri Lanka to accept complaints regarding child abuse

Sri Lanka Child Protection Authority will open a new hotline fromnext week for public to inform the authority regarding child rights violations, announced the Chairman of the Authority Anoma Dissanayake.

The hotline can be easily dialed at 1929.



The Child Protection Authority has appointed 50 officials to look into these complaints. They are deployed in 25 districts.

Even a child that has become a victim of abuse can lodge a complaint through this number.

The Child Protection Authority has taken measures to call a report on the actions regarding child right violations every week, said an Authority spokesman.
