Karunanidhi: Shaken and stirred, not shattered

The people of Tamil Nadu have offered me a good rest. My greetings to them,” is what Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president M Karunanidhi said after the AIADMK’s steamroller victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections on May 13. Read bet­ween the lines, and the rest doesn’t look like time off. Reduced to leading a party that is not even the principal opposition in his state, Karunanidhi has to instead work overtime for the next five years to bring the DMK back into power.

Karuna praises Tamil cinema industry

Known for his proximity with Tamil cinema industry, DMK president and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi has described the industry and its members as a 'balm' for his gruelling political routines. 'Many people vent their anger against me by constantly issuing statements criticising me. But I am least
bothered about them. For, I consider the film industry and its members as the balm for all the abuse and criticism,' he said at the music launch of Tamil film,'Kanimozhi' in Chennai on Friday.

Leadership war erupts in DMK
