India's Janatha Party President holds discussions with Sri Lankan President

The national president of India's Janatha Party Dr. Subramanian Swamy met President Mahinda Rajapaksa Thursday morning at Temple Trees.
President Rajapaksa and Dr. Swamy discussed several matters of mutual interest as Sri Lanka was waiting to learn the stance of India on the US-sponsored resolution at the 22nd session of the UN Human Rights Council.
Dr. Swamy's meeting with President Rajapaksa comes amid renewed protests in Tamil Nadu by pro-LTTE Tamil political parties stirred by the recent release of unauthenticated photographs depicting the alleged killing of LTTE Leader V. Prabahkaran's son by security forces.
Dr. Swamy in a recent interview with NDTV of India doubted the authenticity of the photos as to when and where they were taken since there was no authentication about pictures provided.
He said that is there is no human right violation after LTTE war was over and before war both sides were engaged in human rights violation according to a UN report.
He expressed the view that India should use the cultural link and proximity with Sri Lanka to bring about changes in power sharing with minority Tamils and human rights, not supporting resolutions against the country.
Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and the Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs Karunatilaka Amunugama were also present at the meeting.
