Sri Lanka Cricket sacks team manager, Michael de Zoysa appointed

Sri Lanka Cricket executive committee has decided to sack the national team manager Charith Senanayake from his position with immediate effect, local media reported.
President of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has confirmed that the executive committee has decided to appoint former cricketer Michael de Zoysa to replace Senanayake who was at the post for over a year. Michael de Zoysa, a former assistant secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket and a cricket administrator attached to the Singhalese Sports Club, had planned to contest for the post of Secretary against Nishantha Ranatunga at the January 2012 elections to the SLC but later withdrew from the race. Although the committee had appointed De Zoysa, he has not accepted the post yet, local media said. According to a PTI report, De Zoysa is to take charge of the team from this month's home series against Bangladesh. Charitha Senanayake has said that he has not yet received official intimation about the sacking.
