Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa visited the ailing opposition United National Party parliamentarian Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena who is recovering at the Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital today.
The President accompanied by Minister Johnston Fernando inquired about the health of Dr. Jayawardena and extended his wishes to the MP for a speedy recovery.

The 58-year-old Gampaha District parliamentarian was admitted to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit of the hospital last Thursday after he suffered a heart attack. He is recovering past, his doctor has said.
In April this year, the parliamentarian was admitted to East Surrey Hospital after being found unconscious at the Gatwick Airport in London. Specialist doctors at East Surrey hospital have recommended heart surgery for Jayawardena, media reports said.
