Universities in Sri Lanka's Tamil dominated districts to get two new engineering faculties

Sri Lanka University Grant Commission announced that all arrangements are under way to establish two new faculties at universities inthe Northern and Eastern provinces. Accordingly, two new faculties for Engineering stream will be established in University of Jaffna in the Northern Province and the Eastern University in the Eastern Province.
The Engineering Faculty of Jaffna University is to be established in Kilinochchi while the Engineering Faculty of Eastern University will be established in Ampara. More than 200 students are to be enrolled to these new faculties this year. Kuwait government has agreed to provide financial assistance to establish the Eastern faculty. -->
