Sri Lanka's major Tamil political party, the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) says the closure of the Menik Farm camp in Vavuniya for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) is a misleading tactic.
TNA parliamentarian Suresh Premachandran has said
the IDPs are being shifted from one camp to another in the Mullaitivu District. He has observed that the IDPs would not be resettled in their original homes. According to Premachandran, the government's move to close down Menik Farm is a concern to the TNA. Meanwhile, the government yesterday announced that the remaining IDPs at the Menik Farm camp will be resettled and camp will be closed from today. The government stated that there would not be any IDPs in the country from September 30th. -->
