Secretary of Sri Lanka Judiciary Services Commission rejects allegations against him

The Secretary of Sri Lanka Judiciary Services Commission Manjula Tilakaratne has said that allegations against the Judiciary Services Commission and against the Secretary of the Commission are baseless and malicious and he would reject the allegations against him.
He further said that the lives of his and his family are threatened under these circumstances. Tilakaratne also said that the reason for the situation is the statement he issued on September 18 stating that the Judiciary Services Commission has come under interference from the executive. The JSC, through Tilakaratne, complained on September 18, 2012 about threats to its independent functioning. Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa said Thursday when he met the media chiefs that he had received complaints regarding the conduct of the Secretary of the Judiciary Services Commission. The President dismissed the allegation that the judiciary is unduly influenced by the executive and asserted that there is no political interference of any kind on the country's judiciary. -->
