New envoys of eight nations present credentials to Sri Lankan President

Six new ambassadors and two high commissioners taking assignments in Sri Lanka presented their credentials to President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa today (14) at a ceremony held at the President's Secretariat in Colombo.
Shown here is the Ambassador-Designate of the United States Ms. Michele Sison presenting her credentials to the President.
The other new diplomats assuming duties were Ambassador-Designate of Brazil Marcelo Leonardo da Silva Vasconcelos, Ambassador-Designate of Hungary Dr. Jansz Trenei, Ambassador-Designate of Norway Ms. Grete Lochen, Ambassador-Designate of the United Arab Emirates Abdul Hamid Kassim, High Commissioner-Designate of Nigeria Feme Akinson, Ambassador-Designate of Germany Dr. J ürgen Morhard and Ambassador-Designate of Cyprus Ms. Maria Mitchell.
Minister of External Affairs Prof. G.L Peiris, and Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga, were also present at the event.-->
