SriLankan signs codeshare deal with Royal Jordanian

Sri Lanka's national carrier, SriLankan Airlines has concluded a codeshare agreement with Royal Jordanian, the government media said on Friday.
The agreement, effective from August 26, will permit SriLankan to sell on the Jordanian carrier on their three weekly flights between Colombo and Amman. Under the agreement, SriLankan will be the marketing carrier and will place its marketing carrier code between the Amman and Colombo route operated by Royal Jordanian. "Royal Jordanian becomes SriLankan's sixth codeshare partner, and the first that is a full-fledged Oneworld member. We look forward to a future that will give us more opportunities together with Royal Jordanian, where we will build on the synergies of the two networks and explore avenues of cooperation." SriLankan Airlines' CEO, Kapila Chandrasena, was quoted as saying. This co-operation between SriLankan and Royal Jordanian will be expanded whereby the two airlines will have codeshare operations beyond Colombo and Amman, providing more travel options to their passengers, the government media unit said.
