Speaker of the Sri Lankan parliament Chamal Rajapaksa has directed all government ministers chairing consultative committee meetings to be present in the House to submit the respective committee reports.
The Speaker has made the directive when several ministers who were to present the reports of the relevant committees failed to be present in the Chamber. Ministers of Industries and Commerce, Housing and Common Amenities and Civil Aviation were not in the House when the reports were called. According to Rajapaksa, the ministers need to make arrangements for the relevant report to be handed to the House through another nominee from the committee in the event they are unable to be present in the Chamber.
