Sri Lanka Navy alleged of arresting 22 Indian fishermen

Sri Lankan naval personnel have allegedly arrested 22 Tamil Nadu fishermen and seized their five boats when they were fishing near the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) in Indian waters on Sunday, Indian media reported. According to a PTI report, Indian official sources have said the Navy personnel have alleged that the fishermen had crossed the IMBL while fishing.
The Indian officials have reportedly said that the Sri Lankan Navy had attacked the fishermen by pelting stones at them and damaged their boats before they were arrested. The fishermen have been produced before a court in Thalaimannar, the report said. Sri Lanka Navy denies claims of any attacks on Indian fishermen.
