Sri Lanka Minister rejects claims that he is under a curse of the gods

Sri Lanka Minister of Public Relations Mervyn Silva has rejected the claims by a Hindu priest that he was experiencing a bad time due to a curse of the gods. The priest of the Munneswaram Hindu temple has told media that
the curse of the gods were on Minister Mervyn Silva since he disrupted an animal sacrifice to gods that was scheduled to be held in the Hindu kovil last year. The Minister says that he had never heard the god were with the persons who killed innocent animals. He further said that he performed so many good deeds to religions and ready to sacrifice his blood and life also if asked for. The Minister has come under attack from the local council of his electorate, Kelaniya. The Kelaniya Pradeshiya Sabha has accused the controversial minister of extortion, illegal land acquisition, misusing funds and interfering in the local government body's work and urged the government to conduct a probe.
