Housing and Common Amenities Minister of Sri Lanka Wimal Weerawansa has threatened to replace the contractors currently renovating the Soysapura Flats in Moratuwa for their lethargy in carrying out the work.
Weerawansa has warned the contractors that he would be compelled to terminate their services and award the project to a new contractor if they fail to complete the work by mid-November as agreed.
The Ministry issuing a statement notes that Weerawansa has issued the warning following complaints about the contractors carrying out the renovation work in a very lethargic manner.
The Ministry states that there was a lot of renovation work to be carried out in the Soysapura Flats since the scheme was being renovated after 42 years.
