India's External Affairs Minister SM Krishna is to convey the anger of Indian Tamil parties on lack of progress in a political solution for Sri Lankan Tamils to his Sri Lankan counterpart, Prof. G.L. Peiris.
However, the members of major Tamil parties from Tamil Nadu including the congress ally DMK, unhappy with his response , have walked out of the House, the PTI reported. Members of AIADMK, CPI and CPI-M also have joined the walk-out.
"I will convey (the) anger expressed in the House to the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister," Krishna has said as the parties walked out.
The Indian Minister has also said that India will continue to ask Sri Lanka to withdraw emergency regulations and probe into human rights violations against Tamils to speed up reconciliation.
Sri Lanka today announced that it will lift the emergency regulations at the end of this month.
Commenting on the UN Expert Panel report which said there is credible evidence of atrocities against Tamils, Krishna said India is waiting to take a position since the issue has not come in the formal agenda of any of UN inter-governmental body for discussion yet.
