The Colombo District Court has issued an enjoining order preventing the expulsion of Tamil National Alliance (TNA) Digamadulla District parliamentarian P. H. Hewage from the party.
District Judge Ranjith N. Watupala has issued the enjoining order preventing the TNA from taking disciplinary action against Hewage and expelling him from the party following a civil suit filed by MP Hewage.
TNA Leader P. Sampanthan and General Secretary Mavai Senathirajah were listed as defendants.
Hewage has obtained the enjoining order to prevent the TNA from acting according to a disciplinary inquiry held against him by the party Central Committee on June 6, 2011.
The legislator has said the party had taken disciplinary action against him after he voted in favor of the 18th Amendment to the Constitution and supported the government.
