Sri Lanka's major opposition United National Party (UNP) sources say that Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe is scheduled to meet with Commonwealth Secretary General Kamalesh Sharma in London today.
The duo will exchange views on the future programme of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Union, UNP sources say.
Leader of the Opposition and the UNP left for London today to participate in the 57th round of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Council.
The Opposition Leader's office said that he was scheduled to hold talks with the British Foreign Minister Liam Fox, government representatives and the officials of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Council.
Meanwhile, UNP's secretary of foreign relations Sagala Ratnayake left for London this morning on an invitation of the British Conservative Party. He is expected to hold discussions with several high-ranking Conservative Party members.
He was accompanied by UNP Treasurer Senarath Kapukotuwa.
