Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Party (UNP) has said the government was contradicting itself by deciding to back the second term of United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
UNP National Organizer, parliamentarian Ravi Karunanayaka has told a press conference that the government after accusing Ki-moon of being a war monger following the release of the UN advisory panel report, has now extended support to his re-election.
According to Karunanayaka, the government after accusing the UN Secretary-General of being an LTTE agent trying to tarnish the country's image has now announced its decision to support his re-election.
