The girl claimed that she was sexually exploited by her own father when she was in class ten, and sold for the same purpose to over 100 men, some of whom, the police said, are influential people.
The shattered girl now recounts how her own father destroyed her life and threatened to kill her if she went to the police.
The girl was rescued by a distant relative three months ago and is undergoing treatment for severe depression at a rescue home in Kochi. Her father was a junior artist in films and police said that the mother knew all along, but was also threatened. Five investigating teams are now scanning not just Kerala but also Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for the culprits.
