Pakistan denies knowledge of US Osama raid

Pakistan on Tuesday denied any prior knowledge of the US raid that killed Osama bin Laden, but said it had been sharing information about the targeted compound with the CIA since 2009.
"Neither any base nor facility inside Pakistan was used by the US forces, nor the Pakistan Army provided any operational or logistic assistance to these operations conducted by the US forces," the foreign ministry said in a lengthy statement.

Pakistan has "categorically" denied any prior knowledge of US raid and said CIA used Pakistan intelligence leads to identify and reach Osama Bin Laden. Another statement issued states that Abbottabad and surrounding area was under intelligence surveillance since 2003.
Pakistan has also denied the use of Pakistani air bases used by US aircraft in the raid that led to fall of the Al Qaeda leader on Monday.
