Akshay Kumar Goes Tamil!

Is B-town big shot Akshay Kumar, going to turn into a Tamil heartthrob? That just may be the case as rumor has it that Akki is set to star in a remake of the Tamil film, Ko. The buzz is that Akshay Kumar recently attended a screening for the Tamil film, Ko, in Hindi. He was so impressed with the film that he went up to director, KV Anand to chat about buying the rights and remaking the film for B-town. Sources also reveal that he plans on producing the film under his own banner, Hari Om Productions.
Sources also say that Akshay will play the starring role of a photojournalist in the film. That sounds kind of serious for Akshay; it's a big change from the comedic roles we usually see him in. Will he be able to pull it off? The role was originally played by Tamil actor, Jeeva in the film. Akshay may want to observe Jeeva's performance so he doesn't bring the Chandni Chowk to China type of humor to this film! We are sure the director of the film will help him get into character; the buzz is that Akshay Kumar is looking into directors such as Anthony D'Souza and Priyadarshan to direct the film.
It looks like Akshay is taking a few notes from actors like Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan, who are also digging for films in the South. With the South Indian film industry being such a powerhouse, it doesn't surprise us that B-town is taking a trip south for inspiration.
