Ending a successful three-day visit to Bangladesh from April 18, Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa has returned to the country today with sacred Buddha hair relics from Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheik Hasina has given the sacred relics that were enshrined in a Buddhist Monastery in Chittagong to President Rajapaksa on his request for the 2600th Sambuddhatva Jayanthi exposition in Sri Lanka.
The sacred relics will be deposited at the Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo in the evening, the government said.

The Prime Minister has accepted the invitation to visit Sri Lanka at a mutually convenient time. The dates for the visit would be finalized through diplomatic channels.
