Sri Lankan government to reintegrate more former LTTE cadres

The Sri Lankan government is to reintegrate over 400 former LTTE members into society this week following their rehabilitation.

Commissioner General for Rehabilitation Brigadier Sudantha Ranasinghe has told the media that a group of about 425 former LTTE members will be reintegrated to society on the 23rd.

Following the end of the war 11,696 members of the LTTE were taken under the military.

According to the government, over 7,000 former LTTE members have been rehabilitated so far and some 4,100 are yet to be reintegrated to society.

The released cadres have been given vocation training during the rehabilitation program, the Commissioner General said.
