4 killed, 4 hurt as lorry hits car in Tamil Nadu

Four people, including two women, were killed on the spot and four, including three children, seriously injured in an head-on collision between a tipper lorry and a car near Ayyalur in Vadamadurai on the Tiruchirapalli-Dindigul Highway here this evening.
Police said
the occupants of the ill-fated car were going to Tiruchirapalli from Dindigul and the tipper lorry, laden with sand, was coming to Dindigul in the opposite direction, when the mishap occurred.
The deceased were identified as Jaffar Ali (49), his wife J Rahmathunisha (40), their relative Khaja Moideen and Jaithun Beevi. All of them hailed from Madurai.
The injured were rushed to government hospital here where their condition was stated to be critical.
