Unhappy AIADMK allies discuss future action

Unhappy over the allotment of seats, the alliance partners of the AIADMK, barring the Vaiko-led MDMK, held discussions on Thursday at the Desiya Murporkku Draavida Kazhagam (DMDK) headquarters to chalk out the next course of action.

Talking to reporters, D. Pandiyan, State Secretary of CPI, said the objective of the alliance was to remove the DMK family rule from the State. “We have been campaigning against the neo-liberal economic policies of the Congress-led UPA govt. at the Centre and the DMK govt. in Tamil Nadu. We will never deviate from this agenda.”

Asked whether they were opting for a 'third front', DMDK leader Vijaykant said, "Don't be in a hurry. We are discussing issues and will let you know tomorrow." However, Dr. N. Sethuraman, the leader of All India Moovendar Munnetra Munnani said a third front would only lead to the victory of DMK government.

DMDK Chief Vijayakant, CPM State Secretary G. Ramakrishnan, CPI (M) MP P.K. Rangarajan, CPI Deputy Secretary C. Mahendran and Puthiya Thamizhagam leader Dr. K. Krishnaswamy participated in the discussion.
