Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa who has been closely monitoring the activities of all the ministers in his government is ready to evaluate them based on their performance, a local media report said today.
Citing highly placed authoritative sources, the national news agency Lankapuvath said the President is in the process of making a final evaluation of their performances.
According to the sources, the President will be deciding the future course of action for the country's development based on the performances of the ministers who would be completing one year in the job in April.
The report further says that the President, who is focused on uplifting the economy of the country to create more jobs and to achieve at least 8-9 percent economic growth this year, is expecting development-oriented results from his cabinet of ministers.
Although no major reshuffle in ministerial portfolios is expected, possibility of reassigning tasks under the ministries exists, the sources have hinted.
Any changes that were to take place in the ministries will become known after the forthcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year in April, the report said.
