Sri Lankan minister promises northerners to restore everything they lost

A Sri Lankan government minister today said that it was important to learn from the past rather than regret over the incidents that had taken place and the people of the North would be provided with everything they had lost.

Youth Affairs Minister Dullas Alahapperuma addressing a ceremony at the Jaffna Technical College has said that the President has promised to restore all that has been lost by the northerners.

However, he has said the lives of their children and their childhoods that were lost during the war cannot be restored.

Minister Alahapperuma along with Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa and Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development Minister Douglas Devananda was participating in a ceremony held today to launch the modernization of the Jaffna Technical College.

The Minister has added that the government would take steps to provide the required facilities, infrastructure, and technology to uplift the standard of education in the North.
