The chairman of the National Transport Commission Shashi Welgama says that the route permits for the Colombo-Jaffna passenger transport services were issued in line with proper procedure.
Denying the allegations that the issue of route permits were corrupt, the chairman said that it was transparent and in line with the state tender procedure.
He further said that the National Transport Commission had not taken decisions under any kind of influences.
The official's response was to a recent call by a private bus owners' association to launch a strike saying the issue of route permits was not transparent.
