Six new ambassadors and two high commissioners taking assignments in Sri Lanka presented their credentials to President Mahinda Rajapaksa today at a ceremony held in the President's office at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.
The new diplomats assuming duties were High Commissioner of Republic of Maldives Hussalin Shihab, High Commissioner of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland John James Rankin, Ambassador of Czech Republic Miloslav Stasek , Ambassador of Republic of Paraguay Genaro Vicente Pappalardo Ayala, Ambassador of Lao People's Democratic Republic Thongphanh Syackhaphom , Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sead Avdic, Ambassador of Republic of Kazakhstan Doulat Kuanyshev, and Ambassador of Republic of Slovenia Janez Premoze.
Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Neomal Perera and Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga were also present at the occasion.
