Bangladesh Chief of Army Staff General Mohammad Abdul Mubeen will arrive in Sri Lanka Wednesday on a five-day visit at the invitation of his Sri Lankan counterpart Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya.
General Mubeen accompanied by his wife and several senior officials is scheduled to call on Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Prime Minister D.M Jayaratne and several other ministers and top government officials.
He will also meet the Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and commanders of the Navy and Air Force.
During his visit General Mubeen is expected to visit several places including the archaeological sites at Anuradhapura, Sri Dalada Maligawa and Pinnawela Elephant orphanage.
The Bangladeshi military commander will also visit the Diyathalawa Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) and address the student officers at Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) at Sapugaskanda, the Army reported.
