Sri Lanka President leaves for US on a private visit

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa has left for the United States this morning.

"The President left the country this morning on a private visit to the US," the Media Director General of the President's office, Bandula Jayasekara told local media.

The President is expected to stay in the US for a few days. Nature of his visit is not known.
