The Sri Lanka Army is to offer the expertise it received during the offensive against the defeated Tamil Tiger terrorist group to foreign militaries.
The Army will conduct a training programme from next week on anti-terrorist operations for military personnel from India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, the Government Information Department said.
According to the Army Commander Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya four personnel from India and Pakistan and one from Bangladesh will participate in this training to be held at the elite at the Commando Regiment Training School at Kuda Oya in Uva Province.
The programme which will run for 50 to 90 days will be focused on providing anti-terrorist operational training in jungle terrains.
The Government Information Department has said that the participants to the program were invited by the Sri Lanka Army and army personnel from several other countries are expected to undergo similar training in the future.
