Minister calls on opposition parties to work with government to help Sri Lanka flood victims

Sri Lanka's Public Affairs and Public Relations Minister Mervyn Silva has called on the opposition political parties to unite with the government to provide relief to the flood victims.

Silva has made this comment at a gathering at the D.A. Rajapaksa Vidyalaya in Kiribathgoda.

The Minister has said that members of the opposition parties UNP, JVP, and DNA should work together with the government to help the flood victims.

According to Silva, the opposition parties should play an active role in helping the persons affected by the floods without spreading stories about divine beliefs in the face of a natural crisis.
