Sri Lanka's Power and Energy Ministry draws plan to provide alternative sources of electricity

Sri Lanka's Power and Energy Ministry has drawn up a plan to provide alternative sources of electricity to households in the country that are unable to get connected to the national grid.

Ministry sources have told the local media today that households without electricity should apply to the CEB through their respective Divisional Secretariats.

The Ministry has already informed the 320 Divisional Secretariats and 14,000 Grama Niladharis of this plan.

However, applications have to be handed over to the Divisional Secretariats before December 31.
