Seven Taliban fighters were killed and several more injured when Pakistani security forces targeted militant hideouts in the restive Kurram tribal region in the country's northwest today, an official said.
The troops attacked rebel hideouts in Chinarak area of Kurram Agency near the Afghan border, Maj Fazlur Rehman of the Frontier Corps told Press Trust of India.
Three hideouts, including an ammunition depot, were destroyed during the attacks, he said.
Kurram Agency has been hit hard by sectarian strife and militant violence that have claimed hundreds of lives in the past three years.
