More zones of Sri Lanka's Yala National Park to be opened for tourists

Two more zones of the Yala National Park are to be opened to local and foreign tourists from January, says Sri Lanka Minister of Agrarian Services and Wildlife.

The Minister said that the Zone 2 and 3 will be opened from January and the other zones are to be opened gradually.

Only the Zone 1 of the Park, located 300 kilometers south of capital Colombo, was open for public view in the past due to terrorist threats.

Yala, situated in the southeast region of the country in the Southern Province and Uva Province, is the second largest national park in Sri Lanka.
