Actress Michelle Yeoh promotes road safety campaign in Sri Lanka

Internationally acclaimed Malaysian actress Dato Michelle Yeoh and her husband John Todt, President of Federation Internationale de Automobile (FIA) called on the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa today at the Temple Trees.


Yeoh, the Global Ambassador for "Make Roads Safe" campaign that raises awareness about the hidden epidemic that kills 260,000 children every year pinned a badge of her campaign on President Rajapaksa.


The couple is in Sri Lanka to participate in the 106th anniversary celebrations of Sri Lanka's Automobile Association.
The Automobile Association of Ceylon (AAC) and Ceylon Motor Sports Club who are affiliated to the FIA made arrangements for their visit to Sri Lanka.
Dhammika Attyagalle, President AAC accompanied the delegation on this occasion. Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Secretary to the President Lalith Weerathunge were also present.
