Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa is to appoint an additional senior minister and two deputy ministers within the next few days, sources say.
Former Resettlement Minister Milroy Fernando is to be appointed as a senior minister while Neomal Perera and Sarath Gunaratne are to be appointed as deputy ministers, government sources told ColomboPage.
Fernando, Perera, and Gunaratne were overseas when the new Cabinet ministers and deputy ministers were sworn in Monday.
They traveled to Italy to attend the ceremony held to elevate Sri Lanka's Roman Catholic Bishop Malcolm Ranjith, as a Cardinal by the Pope in Vatican last week.
