Permanent seat for the President in Sri Lanka Parliament

Sri Lanka parliament administration has taken measures to allocate a permanent seat for the President in the parliament.

Deputy General Secretary of the parliament W.B.D. Dasanayaka told media that the President is to participate in parliamentary meetings once in every three months according to the 18th Amendment to the Constitution that was recently passed in the parliament.

The seat the Prime Minister sat previously has been allocated to the President. The Prime Minister will move to the adjacent seat.

The President was in the parliament yesterday for the first time since the 18th Amendment was passed to present the budget proposals.
