Pakistani police have claimed that they have arrested a suspect in the terrorist attack on Sri Lankan Cricket team in Lahore in March 2009.
Pakistani Police Superintendent Omar Virk has told Press Trust of India that a suspect belong to the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi has been arrested.
The suspect was identified as Qari Omar Arbab in Lahore.
"The suspect belongs to the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and works for the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan. Explosive materials were recovered from him," PTI report quoted Virk.
The visiting Sri Lankan team came under a terrorist attack in Lahore when they were on the way to the Gaddafi Stadium to play the third day of the second Test match on March 03, 2009.
A total of seven players and team's British assistant coach, Paul Farbrace were injured in the attack, which also left eight Pakistani security officers dead.
Sri Lanka agreed to tour Pakistan after India pulled out from their tour following the terror attacks in Mumbai.
The Pakistani Security forces in October last year arrested a terrorist commander, Aqeel alias Dr.Usman, who had worked in the Army Medical Corps, for allegedly masterminding the attack.
