Colombo Municipal Council Commissioner Badrani Jayawardena says that the Municipal Council has prepared a set of guidelines for advertisement displays in billboards.

According to the new guidelines, the billboards that affect the road traffic will be removed, the Commissioner said.
A committee, consisted of police and municipal authorities has compiled the guidelines. The committee will be overseeing the approval and placement of billboards and cut-outs.

The Commissioner says that 450 places have been identified by the committee as suitable places for erecting billboards for display.
