Sri Lanka's NTUC together with the Forum of Joint Trade Unions to forward Rs. 8,000 salary increment as budget proposal

Sri Lanka's Marxist JVP affiliated National Trade Union Center (NTUC) along with the Forum of Joint Trade Unions has decided today to propose to the government its demand for a Rs. 8,000 salary increase for the working masses as a budget proposal for 2011
.NTUC Head and JVP Politburo member K.D. Lalkantha said that the demand for a salary increase would be proposed to the government as a budget proposal by the trade unions.

He said signatures of trade union representatives for the respective budget proposal will be collected tomorrow (2).

"The decision to propose the demand for a Rs. 8,000 salary increment to the government as a 2011 budget proposal was made by the Delegates Forum of Joint Trade Unions organized by the NTUC," Lalkantha said.
