Sri Lankan trawler found after missing for four months

A fishing trawler that was missing since mid-June has been recovered with one member of the crew, Sri Lanka's Fisheries Ministry announced.

The trawler departed from Beruwala fishing harbor on March 09 finally communicated with the owner of the vessel on June 16, the owner had told the Ministry.
The vessel had been in the international sea 1,200 nautical miles away northwest to Sri Lanka then.

The vessel was saved by Maldives Coast Guard when it was floating 350 nautical miles away from Male.
The rescued person has been identified as K.D. Mahesh Padma Kumara of Beruwala. He has told that the other four members of the crew died due to food scarcity and their corpses were thrown in to the sea.
