Sri Lanka police probing a series of mysterious robberies

Sri Lanka police have launched several investigations regarding a series of robberies that took place in the Western Province within past few weeks.

Police sources say that police are investigating to ascertain if all the robberies were committed by the same gang.

Bank and other massive scale robberies were reported from Wattala, Moratuwa, Panadura, and Meerigama, all in the Western Province.

On September 24, early morning, a vehicle of the HSBC Bank delivering cash to teller machines was robbed at gun point by a gang that fled on motorcycles.

The police are yet to arrest any culprits of the robberies.
