Marxist party of Sri Lanka alleges attack on its members in Jaffna

Sri Lanka's Marxist Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna today (13) said that a group of party activists have been attacked in Jaffna when they were pasting posters on a cultural event.

The JVP Media Unit said that thugs who have come on motorcycles have allegedly taken away their posters.

At the time of the alleged attack, the party members have been pasting posters on the cultural festival organized by the JVP affiliated Socialist Youth Union in Jaffna.

The cultural festival is scheduled to be held on October 14, 15, and 16 at the Navalar Cultural Center in Nallur.

The thugs have reportedly grabbed the posters saying that the JVP will not be allowed to paste posters in Jaffna.

The JVP says five motorcycles used by the thugs have been identified with their license plates.
