India invites Sri Lankan parliamentary delegation for a visit

India's High Commissioner in Colombo Ashok K. Kantha has called on Sri Lanka's Speaker of Parliament Chamal Rajapaksa on Thursday (21) to hand over a letter from the Indian parliament.

The joint letter from the Chairman of India's Rajya Sabha Mohammad Hamid Ansari and Speaker of Lok Sabha Meira Kumar is an invitation for a parliamentary delegation of Sri Lanka to visit India.

A press release issued by the High Commission in Colombo said the Sri Lankan Speaker has accepted the invitation and agreed to schedule the visit at an early date.
