Sri Lanka government ceremoniously launched the 'e-Divisional Secretariat' project today to provide an efficient service to citizens.
Minister of State Administration W.D.J. Senevirathne launched the project while the Presidential Secretary Lalith Weerathunge, the Secretary to the Ministry of State Administration D. Dissanayake and the Chairman of the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) Prof. P.W. Epasinghe also participated in the ceremony.
The Project Director of ICTA D.C. Dissanayake said that the aim of the 'e-Divisional Secretariat' project is to strengthen the services of the divisional secretariats with the use of information technology.
The registry of householders, state land information, Grama Niladhari certificates and Samurdhi concession documents have been totally computerized under this project, said the Colombo District Secretary J.A. Sylvester.
He said that the divisional secretariats could now issue permits and provide citizens' services more effectively.
The citizens can now log in the website of the divisional secretariat and obtain information easily.
