Sri Lanka Opposition Leader asks where all Fonseka's supporters before the Presidential election have gone

Sri Lanka's Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe Sunday said only a leading Buddhist monk and himself left to stand by former Army Commander and DNA Leader Sarath Fonseka after he was sentenced to three years imprisonment by a military court on trivial charges.

Wickremasinghe addressing a meeting of party members in Kelaniya questioned as to where everyone who supported Fonseka before the Presidential election have gone.

Wickremasinghe also noted that the media was only involved in slinging mud at him and the UNP and publishing cartoons seven days of the week. He called on the media to spend at least one day on behalf of Fonseka.

He said the UNP has done its duty for Fonseka.
