President participates in religious activities at Kataragama

 Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa this morning paid homage to the historic Kiri Vehera in the sacred city of Kataragama and received blessings from the Maha Sangha, including the Chief Incumbent of the Kiri Vehera, Ven. Aluthwewa Soratha thera

Later the President participated in a Hindu Pooja at the Kataragama Maha Devale and visited the Mosque in Kataragama and participated in religious observances.
Parliamentarian Sajin Vass Gunawardena and the Basnayakae Nilame (Custodian) of the Kataragama Maha Devale, Shashendra Rajapaksa accompanied the President.
